Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Atlantic high pressure ridging extending westward
across central Florida will shift southward through Sat in
response to a cold front that will be moving into the far NW
Gulf this morning. Ahead of the front, a trough extends from
29N92W to 26N97W. Gentle to moderate southeast winds are over
the Gulf, except for light to gentle southeast to south winds
are over the eastern Gulf. The cold front will move southeastward
across the basin, reaching from near southeastern Louisiana to 
South Texas by Fri afternoon, from near Fort Myers, Florida to the
NE Mexico and South Texas border by early Sat, then stall from 
the Straits of Florida to South Texas on Sun, then gradually 
weaken with its remnants lifting back north as a warm front 
through Tue. Moderate to locally fresh northeast winds will follow
the front into Sat evening. Haze due to agricultural fires in 
southeastern Mexico continues across most of the western Gulf.

.TONIGHT...S of 24N, S winds 10 kt, shifting to E to SE late. N
of 24N, W winds 10 kt in the evening, becoming variable less than
5 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. 
.SAT...S of 24N, SE winds 10 kt. N of 24N, variable winds less
than 5 kt, becoming SW to W 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3
ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...NE winds 10 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft.
.SUN...E winds 10 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft.
.SUN NIGHT...E to SE winds 15 to 20 kt W of 86W, and NE to E
winds 5 to 10 kt E of 86W shifting to E to SE late. Seas 3 to 5 
ft W of 86W, and 2 to 3 ft E of 86W.
.MON...SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.MON NIGHT...SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.TUE...S winds 20 to 25 kt W of 85W, and SE to S winds 15 to 20
kt E of 85W. Seas 6 to 8 ft W of 85W, and 4 to 6 ft E of 85W.
.TUE NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure ridging extending westward from the
central Atlantic to central Florida will slowly shift east-
southeastward through Sat, ahead of a cold front that will 
approach from the northwest. Expect fresh to strong south to 
southwest winds ahead of the front tonight through late Fri 
between the northern Bahamas and Bermuda. The front is expected 
to move off the northeast Florida coast Fri night, then weaken
as it moves east reaching from near Bermuda to the central
Bahamas by late Sat night. Winds and seas will diminish into Mon 
as the dissipating front continues to drift east of the area, and 
high pressure builds between the Carolinas and Bermuda in the wake
of front. Looking ahead, southeast winds will increase and seas 
will build late Mon through Tue night off northeast Florida and 
north of the Bahamas, as the high pressure shifts eastward ahead 
of the next weak front that is expected to move across the 
southeastern United States. 

.TODAY...S winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and SW 15 to 20 kt N of
27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft S of 27N, and 4 to 6 ft N of 27N. Winds and 
seas higher in and near scattered showers and thunderstorms N of
26N.
.TONIGHT...S of 27N, E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt, shifting to S 
late. Seas 3 to 4 ft. N of 27N, SW winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6
ft. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms N of 26N.
.SAT...W winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms N of 26N. Isolated showers S of 27N.
.SAT NIGHT...W to NW winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and N 10 to
