SUBJECT:  ATLANTIC AND EASTERN PACIFIC GRAPHICAL TROPICAL
          WEATHER OUTLOOKS BECOME OPERATIONAL FOR THE 2009 
          HURRICANE SEASON

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER/S/ GRAPHICAL TROPICAL WEATHER 
OUTLOOKS WILL BECOME OPERATIONAL FOR THE ATLANTIC AND EASTERN 
PACIFIC HURRICANE BASINS...THE EASTERN PACIFIC GRAPHICAL 
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK COMMENCES ON MAY 15 2009 AND THE 
ATLANTIC GRAPHICAL TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK COMMENCES ON JUNE 1 
2009.

THE GRAPHICAL TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK IS A VISUAL COMPANION 
PRODUCT TO THE TEXT PRODUCT. THE TEXT TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK 
IS AN EXISTING PRODUCT DESCRIBING AREAS OF DISTURBED WEATHER AND 
THEIR POTENTIAL FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION. AREAS OF 
DISTURBED WEATHER REFERENCED IN THE TEXT PRODUCT ARE ENCIRCLED  
IN THE GRAPHIC AND NUMBERED...WITH THE NUMBERS CORRESPONDING TO 
THE ORDER IN WHICH THE SYSTEMS ARE DISCUSSED IN THE TEXT 
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK. THE GRAPHICAL TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK 
PRODUCT ALSO INCLUDES AN ASSESSMENT OF THE LIKELIHOOD THAT EACH 
DISTURBANCE WILL BECOME A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 
HOURS.
