For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Norma, located a few hundred miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. The National Hurricane Center has issued the last advisory on Post-Tropical Cyclone Otis, located more than 1000 miles west of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

A broad area of low pressure located a few hundred miles southeast of Acapulco, Mexico, is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression could form by the weekend while it moves slowly west-northwestward near the coast of Mexico. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, this system could produce heavy rainfall along the southern coast of Mexico during the next several days. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent.
