For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

A broad low located about 1400 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula is producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for additional development and this system is expected to become a tropical depression during the next couple of days while it moves westward or west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

Showers and thunderstorms have increased near a surface trough located about 1400 miles east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Further development of this system is possible during the next few days while it moves westward into the central Pacific. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...30 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

An area of low pressure is forecast to form several hundred miles south of the coast of Mexico in a few days. Another area of low pressure could form during the next couple of days several hundred miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
