For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently downgraded Tropical Depression Frank, located several hundred miles west of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

Showers and thunderstorms have become better organized in association with a broad area of low pressure located several hundred miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Environmental conditions are forecast to become increasingly conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form over the weekend or early next week while the low moves west-northwestward at about 10 mph. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent
