TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1100 AM PDT MON SEP 1 2014

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

A trough of low pressure extending several hundred miles west- southwestward from near the southwestern coast of Mexico continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form by late this week while the disturbance moves slowly northward and then northwestward. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains are expected over portions of southwestern Mexico later this week which could cause life-threatening flash floods and mud slides. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.
