Any development of this system is expected to be limited while it drifts northwestward during the next few days due to possible interaction with land and its proximity to a developing disturbance located to its west. Regardless of tropical cyclone development, this system could produce heavy rainfall over portions of El Salvador, southern Guatemala, and southeastern Mexico during the next few days. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent A low pressure system is expected to form during the next day or two near a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located several hundred miles southwest of the Gulf of Tehuantepec.
