A low pressure system could form in this area within the next day or two, and this system could briefly acquire subtropical characteristics while the low moves generally northwestward. By late in the week, additional development is not expected while the disturbance moves north-northeastward and merges with a frontal zone. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall and possible flooding can be expected across the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and portions of the Dominican Republic today and tonight.
