The ITCZ extends from 04N97W to 06N138W. A surface trough extends from 09N138W to 05N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 04N to 14N between 108W and 136W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Gentle to moderate NW winds dominate waters N of 18N, with light to gentle winds to the south, due to a weak pressure gradient. Seas average 3 to 6 ft, except 5 to 7 ft offshore Baja California in NW swell. Seas in the Gulf of California are 2-3 ft. For the forecast, winds across the area will be moderate or weaker through today. High pressure building over the U.S. Great Basin should funnel fresh to locally strong NW winds over the Gulf of California Mon through Tue night. NW swell will propagate across the waters W of Baja California into today, before diminishing. The next set of large NW swell will begin to move into the Baja California Norte waters Mon night. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... A significant pressure gradient in the area continues to support fresh NE winds over the Gulf of Papagayo region, where seas are 5 to 7 ft. Elsewhere, winds are mostly gentle, with seas of 3 to 6 ft. For the forecast, fresh NE winds will prevail over the Gulf of Papagayo region today. Fresh N winds will pulse tonight in the Gulf of Panama. Decaying NW swell with seas of 8 to 9 ft are continuing to impact the waters north of 07N and west of 120W. NE Winds in this area are generally moderate to fresh. Elsewhere, the trades are moderate or weaker with seas 5-7 ft. For the forecast, the NE trades will weaken to moderate across the waters today. A new set of significant NW swell will arrive in the NW waters tonight, with seas exceeding 12 ft through Mon night as the swell propagates SE into the middle of next week.
