Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
0830 UTC. 

...SPECIAL FEATURES...

The remnants of Tropical Depression Nineteen-E inland along the 
coast of Mexico near 28.1N 110.0W, moving NNE at 8 kt. Maximum 
sustained winds are 20 kt with gusts to 30 kt. The remnant low 
will move further inland this morning, then dissipate in the 
afternoon. Scattered heavy showers associated with the low have 
moved inland. It will bring widespread heavy rain and gusty 
winds to parts of NW Mexico today. Life-threatening flash floods

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... 

The monsoon trough extends from 09N79W to 12N110W, then resumes 
from low pressure near 17N119W to 13N125W to 12N140W. Scattered 
moderate convection is from 07N to 11N between 105W and 115W, 
and within 30 nm either side of the axis between 122W and 130W.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

over northwest Mexico.

High pressure NW of the area supports moderate to fresh NW winds 
W of Baja California. Seas are 5-7 ft across the offshore waters.
The pressure gradient will relax tonight, allowing the winds and 
seas to diminish this weekend. NW winds are expected to increase 
Mon and Tue as the gradient tightens W of the Baja peninsula.

A locally tight pressure gradient will support pulsing nocturnal 
northerly winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec the next few nights.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR...

Fresh offshore nocturnal winds will pulse across the Gulf of 
Papagayo the next several nights.

Cross-equatorial SW swell reaching the Central American coast 
will slowly subside this weekend. The monsoon trough will 
meander near 10N the next few days.

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...   

An elongated surface trough extends from W of southern Baja to a 
weak 1010 mb low pressure area centered near 17N119W. Surface 
ridging prevails over the waters NW of the trough axis. Moderate 
to locally fresh trades are north of the trough west of 120W, 
supporting seas to 8 ft from 14N-19N W of 130W. These seas will 
subside during the next 2 days as the pressure gradient weakens.
