Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 08N78W to 08N90W to 11N99W to 09N120W. The ITCZ extends from 09N120W to 09N125W to 08N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 120 nm south of the monsoon trough between 88W and 92W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 60 nm south of the monsoon trough between 98W and 101W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 60 nm south of the monsoon trough between 104W and 112W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 60 nm north of the ITCZ between 122W and 124W. Scattered moderate convection was noted within 60 nm south of the ITCZ between 128W and 136W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A ridge west of the area will support moderate to fresh northwest breeze west of the Baja Peninsula through late Sat, then diminish to gentle to moderate Sun. Gentle to moderate winds will prevail over the southern half of the Gulf of California, with light to gentle winds over the northern half of the Gulf of California. Low pres is forecast to develop along the monsoon trough near 11N100W this weekend, drifting NW through the middle of next week. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... The monsoon trough extends along 10N. Gentle to moderate SW winds prevail south of the monsoon trough, with gentle to moderate E winds north of the monsoon trough. Seas of 3 to 5 ft seas will prevail across the forecast waters. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A surface ridge extends over the northern waters. This will support moderate to fresh trades, and 6 to 8 ft seas, from 09N to 14N west 130W through the middle of next week. N swell, with seas to 9 ft ft prevails northwest of a line from 0N121W to 15N140W. These seas will subside to less than 8 ft late tonight. Northerly swell will propagate into the northern waters Sunday. Seas above 8 ft associated to this swell will propagate south of 30N between 120W and 130W Monday night. $$ AL
