The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 09N79W to 09N84W to 12N92W to 09N110W to 10N116W. The ITCZ extends from 10N116W to 08N128W to 08N128W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 150 nm S and 30 nm N of the monsoon trough between 93W and 111W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 150 nm S of the ITCZ between 120W and 130W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A ridge west of the area will support gentle to moderate northwest breeze west of the Baja Peninsula through late Thu. Moderate to locally fresh conditions will develop west of Baja on Thu evening, and then continue through Sat night. Gulf of Tehuantepec: Winds are expected to be light and variable through the upcoming weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... The monsoon trough is forecast to gradually shift southward as low pressure north of the area weakens. This pattern will support light to gentle SW winds south of the monsoon trough and gentle to moderate easterly winds north of the monsoon trough. Seas in the 3 to 5 ft range will prevail. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A surface ridge prevails over the northern waters. Moderate to fresh trades, and 7 to 8 ft seas, are observed across the tropics south of the ridge from 09N to 15N west of 136W. These conditions will gradually diminish through Thu. Northerly swell, with seas of 8 to 11 ft, prevails NW of a line from 30N120W to 23N140W. These seas will gradually subside to less than 8 ft by late Fri. $$ AL
