The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 11.5N86W to 13N95W to 08N119W. The ITCZ extends from 08N119W to beyond 08N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted east of 80W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted from 05N to 09N between 80W and 87W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted from 09N to 11N between 96W and 104W. Scattered moderate convection was noted from 06N to 08N between 123W and 134W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A northwest to southeast ridge will prevail west of the area. This will support mainly gentle to moderate northwest breeze west of the Baja Peninsula. Seas of 7 to 9 ft will propagate southeast across the waters north of 27N through Thu, subsiding below 8 ft on Thu night. Gulf of California: A surface trough over the northern Gulf of California will support moderate locally fresh southwesterly winds today, briefly strengthening tonight through Thu morning. Light and variable winds are expected across the southern gulf until late Thu before increasing to moderate to fresh. Gulf of Tehuantepec: Winds are expected to be light and variable through the upcoming weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... The monsoon trough will gradually shift southward this week, reaching 10N by Fri. Light to gentle southwest to west winds, and 3 to 5 ft seas will prevail S of the trough. Gentle to occasionally moderate offshore nocturnal winds will prevail near gap areas N of the trough. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A surface ridge extends across the northern waters. Fresh to locally strong trades, and 7 to 10 ft seas, are observed across the tropics south of the ridge from 10N to 20N west of 130W. These conditions will gradually diminish through Thu. Northerly swell, with seas in the 8 to 9 ft range prevails north of 26N between 123W and 137W. The swell will propagate southward the next couple of days while subsiding.
