Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from 
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is 
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and 
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
0300 UTC.
  
...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... 

A surface trough extends west from the coast of Panama near 
08N78W to 06N98W, where the ITCZ continues westward to 08N120W 
to 07N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is 
within 60 nm south of the axis between 90W and 97W. Scattered 
moderate convection is within 150 nm north of the axis between 
106W and 111W.

...DISCUSSION...

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

A ridge west of Baja California will strengthen this weekend. 
Moderate to fresh northwest flow in offshore waters will become 
fresh to locally strong Fri through Sat night. Fresh to strong 
northerly winds are possible in the Gulf of Tehuantepec this 
weekend. Light to gentle W to NW winds are expected in the Gulf 
of California through Saturday. 

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... 

Fresh northeast nocturnal winds are expected in and downstream 
of the Gulf of Papagayo through Wed night. Gentle nocturnal flow 
is forecast this week downstream of the Gulf of Panama. Gentle 
to moderate offshore flow will prevail elsewhere N of 09N, while 
light to gentle SW winds are expected S of 09N. 

REMAINDER OF THE AREA... 

A weakening cold front from 30N135W to 27N140W will move slowly 
east then dissipate on Wed. 7-9 ft northwest swell associated 
with the front will gradually subside through Wed night. A ridge 
will build behind the front Thu and Fri. Fresh northeast trade 
winds and 6-7 ft seas are observed across the tropical waters 
between 08N and 17N, south of the subtropical ridge and north of 
the the ITCZ. Little change is expected through the remainder of 
the week.

7-9 ft southerly swell observed south of the equator between 90W 
and 120W will gradually subside through Thursday morning.
