The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 09N84.5W to 07N90W to 06N100W. The ITCZ continues from 06N100W to 07N121W to 03N136W to beyond 03N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted within 60 nm of the trough between 84W and 87W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted within 150 nm either side of the ITCZ between 112W and 125W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted within 210 nm north of the ITCZ between 126W and 135W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Gentle NW winds and 4 to 6 ft seas prevail across the region. A cold front will move into the waters off Baja California late tonight. High pressure building behind the cold front will support fresh to strong NW winds off Baja California Norte tonight and Sun, diminishing early next week. Looking ahead, fresh to strong winds are possible in the Gulf of Tehuantepec by Wed as a cold front moves into southern Mexico. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds are expected through the forecast period. Seas in the 2-4 ft range will prevail, except for the far southern zones where southerly swell will build seas to 4-6 ft this weekend. Fresh gap winds are possible in the Gulf of Papagayo by mid week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A cold front extending from 30N134W to 26N140W has ushered in a set of decaying NW swell. Seas up to 9 ft prevails over the waters north of 28.5N west of 136W. The front will shift eastward through the weekend. Associated NW swell will subside below 8 ft Sun. Elsewhere 1020 mb high pressure centered near 26N128W will continue to support mainly light to gentle winds north of 15N and moderate to occasionally fresh trades farther south. Looking ahead, a cold front will move into the waters north of 25N early next week, accompanied by larger NW swell, with seas peaking 10 to 15 ft over the waters north of 25N and west of 130W waters Tue. NW swell of 8 to 11 ft will cover the region north of 15N and west of 130W through mid week. $$ AL
