The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 09N85W to 04N102W. The ITCZ continues from 04N102W to 04N116W to beyond 03N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted within 180 nm S of the surface trough between 87W and 92W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted from 04N to 07N W of 130W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... High pressure building NW of the area will support fresh to strong NW winds off Baja California Norte this weekend, with seas building to near 10 ft by Sun night. Winds and seas will then decrease Mon and Tue. Elsewhere over the open Pacific waters, light to gentle winds and seas of 4-6 ft will prevail. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds are expected through the forecast period. Seas in the 2-4 ft range will prevail, except for the far southern zones where southerly swell will build seas to 4-6 ft this weekend. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure of 1022 mb is centered over the northern waters near 28N127W. A weak pressure pattern prevails across the forecast waters, supporting mainly gentle to moderate winds over much of the forecast waters. The only exceptions are light winds in the vicinity of the high center, and fresh winds just north of the ITCZ west of 135W, and over the far NW waters. A cold front will enter the forecast waters Friday. Winds over the NW waters will briefly increase to near 25 kt Friday. A set of decaying NW swell will propagate into the far NW waters, building seas to near 9 ft over the far northern waters Friday. A second cold front will move into the NW waters early next week. This cold front will usher in a larger NW swell, with seas peaking near 13 ft over the far NW waters Tue. $$ AL
