The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0430 UTC. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough passes through the coastal sections of Guinea-Bissau near 12N17W, to 05N19W. The ITCZ continues from 05N19W, 03N25W, to 01N30W, to the Equator along 39W. Precipitation: scattered moderate to strong is within 90 nm of the coast of Suriname. Scattered moderate to isolated strong is within 30 nm of the NW coast of French Guiana. Scattered moderate to widely scattered strong is from 01N to 03N between 41W and 43W. Isolated moderate to locally strong is from 06N southward from 40W eastward. GULF OF MEXICO... Broad surface anticyclonic wind flow spans the Gulf of Mexico. A surface ridge extends from Louisiana into the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico. Fresh to strong NE winds are in the south central and the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. Fresh to strong winds and moderate seas in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico will diminish gradually and subside by Sunday. High pressure will continue to extend across the basin through the middle of next week. Fresh to strong winds will pulse W-NW of the Yucatan Peninsula at night through early next week. CARIBBEAN SEA... A stationary front passes through the northern coastal areas of Haiti, to the eastern sections of Jamaica, to the eastern coastal sections of Honduras, to south central Honduras. Precipitation: rainshowers are possible from the stationary front northward and northwestward. A surface trough is along 11N73W in northern Colombia, to the Colombia/Panama border, beyond 07N80W, into the eastern Pacific Ocean. Precipitation: scattered moderate to strong is within a 30 nm radius of 06N75W, about 180 nm to the SE of the surface trough. Scattered moderate to strong also is in Colombia from 04N southward between 71W and 75W. Broken to overcast low level clouds, and isolated moderate rainshowers, cover the rest of the Caribbean Sea. The clouds and isolated moderate precipitation are moving with the surface-to-low level wind flow. The current stationary front stretches from the Windward Passage to Jamaica, continuing to near the Honduras-Nicaragua border. The front is expected to dissipate gradually through the remainder of the weekend. Fresh to strong winds and building seas to the west of the front will persist in the Lee of Cuba and across the approach to the Windward Passage through early next week. High pressure in the Atlantic Ocean will support fresh to strong trade winds in the south central Caribbean Sea through early next week, with the highest winds near the Colombia coast. ATLANTIC OCEAN... A cold front passes through 32N59W, to 30N60W 21N70W, to the northern coastal sections of Haiti. Precipitation: scattered moderate to isolated strong is from 29N northward between 50W and 56W. Isolated to widely scattered moderate and locally strong is elsewhere from 24N northward between 50W and the cold front. Rainshowers are possible from 20N to 24N between 55W and the cold front. A cold front passes through 32N29W, to 30N30W, 27N34W, and to 26N40W. A surface trough continues from 26N40W, to 28N44W and 30N47W. Precipitation: isolated moderate rainshowers are from 20N northward between 23W and 50W. The current cold front from 26N65W to the Windward Passage will move eastward slowly, in the southeastern waters, and across Hispaniola. Fresh to strong NW to N winds, and building seas, are expected through Sunday, behind the cold front. Fresh to strong winds will continue near the Windward Passage through Monday.
