DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Miriam was located near latitude 13.6 North, longitude 126.6 West. Miriam is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Steady strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Miriam is expected to become a hurricane by late Monday.
