DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine-E was located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 127.0 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h). A general westward motion with some increase in forward speed is forecast during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible during the next 48 hours, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm in a couple of days. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
