Howard is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through Wednesday night. A turn toward the west is forecast on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected during the next couple of days.
