DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Celia was located near latitude 19.3 North, longitude 113.1 West. Celia is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue over the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast and Celia is expected to become a post-tropical cyclone in a couple of days. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells will affect portions of the southwestern coast of Mexico, the southern Baja California peninsula, and the coast of west-central Mexico during the next few days.
