DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Celia was located near latitude 18.0 North, longitude 110.3 West. Celia is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A continued west-northwestward motion with a gradual increase in forward speed is expected through early next week. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Celia is expected to gradually weaken for the next few days. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb (29.33 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells are affecting portions of the southwestern coast of Mexico and will spread northward to the southern Baja California peninsula and the coast of west-central Mexico today.
