DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Carlos was located near latitude 9.8 North, longitude 133.5 West. The depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A continued westward motion along with a slight decrease in forward speed is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Carlos is expected to degenerate into a remnant low tonight or tomorrow and dissipate in a few days.
