The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A slower motion toward the northwest or west-northwest is anticipated for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The depression is forecast to become a tropical storm later today and could become a hurricane on Tuesday.
