DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kristy was located near latitude 19.6 North, longitude 129.9 West. Kristy is moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h). A general northward motion at a slower forward speed is expected for the next day or so. Kristy is then forecast to gradually turn toward the northwest by early next week. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Steady weakening is expected for the next couple of days, and Kristy is forecast to become a remnant low on Sunday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center.
