DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Olivia was located near latitude 18.1 North, longitude 125.8 West. Olivia is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion with some increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days. A gradual turn toward the west is expected over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. A gradual weakening trend is forecast to begin within a day or so. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km).
