DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Olivia was located near latitude 17.7 North, longitude 124.6 West. Olivia is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion with some increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days. A gradual turn toward the west is expected over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds remain near 100 mph (155 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight weakening is forecast during the next few days. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km).
