DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Aletta was located near latitude 14.3 North, longitude 108.4 West. Aletta is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through early Friday. A slow west-northwestward or northwestward motion is forecast on Friday and Saturday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Aletta is expected to become a hurricane by Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
