DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Aletta was located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 107.9 West. Aletta is moving toward the west near 8 mph (13 km/h), and a slow westward to west-northwestward motion is expected over the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Aletta could become a hurricane by late Thursday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
