DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Six-E was located near latitude 13.0 North, longitude 100.9 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest is expected tonight, and this motion should continue into early next week as the system moves roughly parallel to but well offshore of the coast of southwestern Mexico. Satellite-derived wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected during the next few days, and the system is forecast to become a hurricane later this weekend. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
