This system is expected to move slowly northwestward, and some development is possible over the next few days as long as it remains offshore. Environmental conditions are forecast to become less conducive for development by the end of the week. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains will be possible across portions of Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Winds and seas will also increase across portions of El Salvador and Guatemala. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate winds will prevail through the week.
