051 FZPN27 KNHC 160900 OFFPZ7 Offshore Waters Forecast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 200 AM PDT Thu Jun 16 2022 Offshore Waters Forecast for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. PMZ001-162100- Synopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico 200 AM PDT Thu Jun 16 2022 .SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Blas is near 15.8N 104.0W with 981 mb at 2 AM PDT, moving WNW at 7 kt. Maximum sustained winds area 75 kt with gusts to 90 kt. Blas will move to 16.2N 105.1W this afternoon, 17.0N 107.1W Fri morning, and 17.8N 109.6W Fri afternoon. Hurricane Blas will reach 18.2N 111.3W Sat morning, then weaken to a tropical storm near 18.6N 112.5W Sat afternoon. Tropical Storm Blas will reach 18.9N 113.6W Sun morning. Blas will change little in intensity as it moves west of the Revillagigedo Islands early Mon. An area of disturbed weather located a couple of hundred miles south of the coasts of Guatemala and El Salvador is associated with a broad area of low pressure. Although shower and thunderstorm activity associated with this disturbance remains disorganized at this time, a tropical depression is likely to form in the next couple days while the system drifts erratically. Environmental conditions are forecast to become less conducive for development over the weekend. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains are possible across portions of southeastern Mexico during the next several days. Smoke and haze from agricultural fires may lead to reduced visibility for waters from Jalisco northward today. Otherwise, mainly gentle to moderate winds will prevail through the remainder of the week, locally fresh offshore Baja California Norte and in the Gulf of California Thu night through the upcoming weekend. $$ PMZ009-162100- Mexico Border S to 29N within 60 nm of shore- 200 AM PDT Thu Jun 16 2022 .TODAY...W winds 10 kt.
