Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from a powerful 998 mb low
pressure system over the southeast Gulf west of Port Charlotte,
Florida to the western tip of Cuba. Gale force winds will follow
the front over the central Gulf with seas to 20 ft this evening
near the Yucatan Channel. These conditions will prevail through
the evening mainly over the south- central and southeast Gulf as
the low pressure and associated front move east of the basin.
Mariners are urged to exercise caution across the entire Gulf of
Mexico, including outside of the gale warning areas due to the
expansive area of strong to near- gale force winds and rough
seas associated with this weather scenario. Winds and seas will
diminish into mid week. Southerly flow will increase over the
western Gulf late Wed and Thu as low pressure develops over
northeast Mexico and the southern Plains.
