Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A 1015 mb low pres has developed near 25N96W. Gale
force winds and rough seas are expected through Tue across
the northern semicircle of the low as it moves ENE dragging a
frontal boundary. The pressure gradient between the low and a
strengthening ridge over the E United States will support fresh
to strong E winds and building seas over the E Gulf through the
middle of the week. Marine conditions are expected to improve by
the second half of the week.
