Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A tight pressure gradient N of a stalled front extending from the NW Bahamas along the NW coast of Cuba to near Cozumel, Mexico is producing strong northeast winds and rough seas over the southeastern Gulf and Straits of Florida. These conditions will diminish tonight as high pressure over the region slides eastward and weakens through the weekend and into early next week. Seas to 10 ft, and higher in the Florida Current, prevail across the southeastern Gulf and Straits of Florida, and will gradually subside tonight.
