Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from near Naples, Florida to
just south of Veracruz, Mexico. Winds are reaching gale force
off Veracruz behind the front. Scattered thunderstorms are also
active along the front over the southwest Gulf. The front will
move southeast of the Gulf tonight followed by fresh winds and
rough seas into Mon. Looking ahead, winds and seas will diminish
through mid week as high pressure builds over the northern Gulf
in the wake of the front.
