Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak stationary front extends from the Florida 
panhandle to off SE Texas. The front is forecast to dissipate 
over the next day. Fresh to locally strong NE-N winds over the 
western half of the Gulf is expected to weaken by tonight. Fresh 
to strong east winds along and just offshore the northern Yucatan 
Peninsula will develop Wed night into late this week. Another 
frontal boundary will enter the NW Gulf late this week, but no 
appreciable increase in winds or seas is forecast behind the 
front..
