Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from central Louisiana east to near Panama City, FL. Meanwhile, a rather potent squall line from near 27N90W to 22N94W. It is racing eastward. A large complex of numerous strong thunderstorms is racing eastward along and ahead of the squall line from 22N to 29N between 85W and 90W. The thunderstorms are accompanied by frequent lighting, strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall reducing visibility. Mariners navigating through the impacted waters are urged to use caution. The cold front will become stationary and weaken as it reaches from northern Florida to the western Gulf this morning. The squall line and complex of strong to severe thunderstorms will weaken as it moves from the central Gulf to the eastern Gulf by early this afternoon. Fresh to strong east winds will along and just offshore the northern Yucatan Peninsula will diminish by early this afternoon, then redevelop Wed night.
