Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from Vermilion Bay, LA to south
of Tampico, Mexico near 21.5N98W. Strong to gale force S winds
are occurring E of the front over the eastern and central Gulf.
Strong NW winds are behind the front over the NW Gulf, with gale
force N winds noted offshore Tampico. NW gales to strong gales
are forecast offshore of Veracruz, Mexico for this afternoon.
Strong to near gale force S winds will occur over the SE Gulf
and Yucatan Channel through early this evening. The front will
reach from Apalachicola, FL to the central Bay of Campeche this
evening, before stalling on Sat. Gale force gusts across the
Gulf of Mexico will end by late this evening. Winds and seas
will subside by Sat afternoon. Benign winds and seas will then
continue into early next week.
