Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from near the Yucatan Channel to
along the N coast of the Yucatan Peninsula to the eastern Bay of 
Campeche where it has stalled and reaches to a 1017 mb low pres
area near 21.5N95W. The remainder of the cold front will stall 
across the Yucatan Channel this evening. The stationary front will
become a sharp surface trough over the SW Gulf on Fri. Gale force
NW winds will continue within about 120 nm of the Mexican coast 
near Veracruz through tonight while strong winds prevail elsewhere
over the SW Gulf, and fresh to strong in the central Gulf. The 
surface trough will extend from the SW Gulf to the NW Gulf over 
the weekend while low pres lingers along it. The gradient between
this possible low pres and high pres across the south-central 
U.S. will produce strong to gale force winds across much of the 
Gulf of Mexico late Sat through Sun night. Conditions should 
gradually improve early next week.
