Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from the Straits of Florida to
the N coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, and continues as a
stationary front to the central Bay of Campeche. The cold front
will stall across the Yucatan Channel this evening. The
stationary portion will become a sharp surface trough over the
SW Gulf on Fri. Gale force NW winds will continue within about
120 nm of the Mexican coast near Veracruz through tonight while
strong winds prevail elsewhere over the SW Gulf. The surface
trough will extend from the SW Gulf to the NW Gulf over the
weekend while possible low pres forms along the trough. The
gradient between this possible low pres and high pres across the
south-central U.S. will produce strong to gale force winds
across much of the Gulf of Mexico late Sat through Sun night.
