Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure is taking control of the weather
pattern across the Gulf region as the strong cold front moves SE
of the area. Winds will diminish below gale force in the SW Gulf
by tonight, and seas will gradually subside. The high pressure
will shift eastward across the northern Gulf through Sat night
allowing for fresh southerly flow to set up over the western
Gulf starting Sat night.

.TONIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt, diminishing to less than 10 kt
after midnight. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.THU...N winds less than 10 kt in the morning, becoming variable
winds less than 10 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. 
.THU NIGHT...Variable winds less than 10 kt, becoming SE less
than 10 kt after midnight. Seas 2 ft or less.
