Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough across the northern and central
Gulf will linger through the middle of the week before
dissipating. Fresh to near gale force SW winds ahead of the
trough and in deep convection will continue to affect mainly the
east-central and SE basin through the remaining weekend. Areas
of thunderstorms will also persist east of the trough.
Otherwise, light to gentle variable winds are forecast Mon and
Tue, increasing to moderate speeds W of 90W Wed and Thu.

.TONIGHT...Variable winds less than 10 kt, becoming SE less than
10 kt after midnight. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.SUN...Variable winds less than 10 kt. Seas 3 ft.

evening, subsiding to 2 ft or less.
