Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the N
Gulf of Mexico are associated with a surface trough that extends
from the Florida panhandle west-southwestward along the northern
Gulf coast. The trough is forecast to drift northward during the
next few days and significant development is unlikely due to the
system's proximity to land. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
are likely to continue in the area for at least the next couple 
of days. Otherwise, weak high pressure over the area will maintain
relatively quiet conditions through the weekend.
