Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong NE winds and rough seas persist this morning across much of the eastern and southern Gulf as high pressure starts to build over the northwest Gulf in the wake of a cold front that moved across the basin late yesterday. Winds and seas will diminish through late today as the high pressure shifts eastward across the northern Gulf. The high pressure will shift east of the area through Mon, allowing for fresh east to southeast return flow to set up over the Gulf in advance of the next cold front. This cold front is expected to enter the far NW Gulf late Mon night into early Tue, and reach from the western Florida panhandle to the eastern Bay of Campeche by late Tue. Fresh winds accompanying this front will diminish through mid week. Gulf of Mexico N of 26N W of 87W .TODAY...E winds 10 to 20 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. .TONIGHT...SE winds 10 to 15 kt.
