Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front extends from near Naples, Florida
to 1018 mb low near 26N87W then continues as a cold front to the
southern Bay of Campeche near Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Strong
gales follow the front along the coast of Mexico south of
Tampico. Gales will persist off Veracruz through early Tue, with
seas to 18 ft. The front is forecast to reach from near Lake
Okeechobee in south- central Florida to the eastern Bay of
Campeche on Tue morning, and extend across the Straits of
Florida and the Yucatan Channel on Wed morning. Winds and seas
will diminish across the Gulf by early Wed as high pressure
settles over the northern Gulf through Fri.
