more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...In the wake of a cold front, strong W-NW winds
encompass the basin north of 23N, with moderate to fresh winds
elsewhere. Seas of 12 ft or greater north of 22N and east of 94W
will gradually subside to below 8 ft by Sun. Fairly tranquil 
marine conditions are then forecast for the end of the weekend 
into next week.

.OVERNIGHT...NW winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 11 to 16 ft.
.SAT...NW winds 10 to 20 kt. Seas 8 to 13 ft, subsiding to 6 to
9 ft in the afternoon. 
.SAT NIGHT...N winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. 
.SUN...NE winds less than 10 kt in the morning, becoming
variable winds less than 10 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
