Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A frontal trough extends from the Florida Staits to
the Yucatan channel. Another surface trough is over the Bay of
Campeche supporting some showers. A weak pressure gradient
support light to gentle variable winds with seas to 3 ft. A weak
surface ridge will start to build across the basin this evening
and moderate to locally fresh return flow will develop over the
western half of the basin, continuing through Wed night.
