000 FZNT32 KNHC 110251 OFFN21 Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 1051 PM EDT Fri Sep 10 2021 Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...The northern part of a tropical wave is interacting with a surface trough over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. The merger of these features is producing a large but disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms over the Gulf of Mexico. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development over the weekend, and a tropical depression is likely to form on Sunday or Monday before the system moves near or onshore of the western Gulf of Mexico coast. Regardless of development, this disturbance is expected to produce heavy rain late this weekend across portions of the western Gulf coast, including coastal Texas and Louisiana through the middle of next week. Expect an increase in winds and seas along these regions with this system. Meanwhile, a frontal boundary over the northern Gulf will prevail through Sun supporting showers and thunderstorms across the region.
