Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough combined with a weak upper level
low over the Yucatan Peninsula is producing locally heavy
rainfall today. The trough is forecast to move NW into the SW
Gulf of Mexico later today, then move slowly N or NE over the
western or central Gulf of Mexico. Upper-level winds are
forecast to be only somewhat conducive for tropical formation,
but some slow development is possible through mid week.
Elsewhere, a weakening stationary front over the NE Gulf will
dissipate today, while high pressure dominates much of the
remainder of the basin.
